The sculpture consists of a wire-formed globe attached to a welded ferrous metal sheet pedestal with cooper bronze sheeting applied to form the continents on the globe. The pedestal, its base, and the central column that supports the globe appear to have been painted with bronze flake paint. It is unknown whether this is the original color/intent of the piece. The steel sheet is 1/8 inch thick and is likely supported by a central steel support with bolts to hold it in place. The rebar that forms the sphere is not painted. The copper sheeting has a weathered appearance with a clear coating applied to both sides and is attached to the rebar with ferrous hardware. A pink, plastic jewel has been adhered to the copper sheeting over the state of South Dakota. The piece has been welded to painted mild steel inserts embedded in the surface of a concrete footing/pad. The pad is embedded in the ground and is nearly flush with the surface. A painted ferrous metal plaque mount has been attached to the concrete footing with stainless steel hardware. It encases two polished quartzite plaques that are engraved with black paint in the recessed areas.
