This cast bronze sculpture is a monumental depiction of R.F. Pettigrew. The piece was cast in 2012 and installed in 2013. The figure stands in a suit and bow tie and is shown holding a paper. His proper left arm is bent at the elbow and extends upwards against his body toward his neck. The surface has a light green patina throughout, with a painted quality and appearance. The raised edges of the piece appear purposefully worn to further the aged look. According to the foundry where the piece was cast (Bronze Age Art Casting), there is a wax coating on the piece. The sculpture is placed upon a quartzite-clad pedestal several feet in the air. The quartzite veneer is smooth, but not polished. The internal structure of the pedestal is unknown as well as how the sculpture is adhered to the pedestal though the piece appears to be affixed to a stainless steel plate and attached to a cap stone. Due to its relatively recent installation, no plaque is currently available. Sculpture placed May 17, 2013 at 5th & Phillips Ave. May 2015 - Darwin Wolf is working on creating and installing a plaque on the statue.
