2008 Sculpture Walk People's Choice Award winner. The sculpture depicts a hallow circle with a young female figure contorted to the ovular shape inside. She is shown reading a book with her feet against the opposite side of the circle. The piece has a brown patina except for the highly polished band with inscriptions located on the outer side of circle, which was likely protected by an acrylic coating found throughout the surface of the piece. The base on which the circle directly sits is wider at the bottom and narrows as it reaches the circle. There are relief scenes at both the east and west sides of the bottom section as well with the signature visible at the east or proper left side. Drainage holes are present at the north and south side of the reclining figure and at the east side of canoe. It is unknown how the sculpture is mounted to the rough-hewn quartzite base, but it is likely secured through epoxied threaded stainless steel bolts as no visible caulking was noted and a slight gap between stone and sculpture is evident. This possibly allows for drained water to evaporate via air circulation. The stainless steel plaque is mounted at the south side of the stone with stainless steel hardware and contain polished quartzite plaques with black pain in the engraved areas.
