The sculpture consists of a patinated bronze eagle in flight that is supported by a large bronze tree branch. The eagle has an overall dark brown patina with polished highlights at the beak, talons, head and tail feathers. The branch has a very light green patina. A signature was noted at the proper left side near the connection to the base. The sculpture is mounted on a rough-hewn quartzite pedestal with threaded stainless steel rods, likely epoxied for stability. The quartzite plaque mount is smooth with a bronze plaque affixed to the front, likely with epoxy. The recessed areas are painted black with high polished raised lettering and edges maintained by a clear
