The sculpture consists of a painted mild steel abstract grouping of 5 obtuse triangles with ½ inch mild steel rods giving added support. The width of the triangle borders is ca. 17 inches and the sheets are ¼ of an inch thick. The triangle sizes appear to vary. The sheets are welded together at all of the connection points and at the base triangle. The flat steel elements have slight creases through the center of the borders. The paint coating, which appears to have been applied in a single layer, is very thin. RLA staff also found evidence of a very thin white primer beneath the yellow topcoat. According to the fabricator, Wheeler Tank Mfg, a Tnemec paint system was utilized. The structure is secured to a triangular poured concrete footing with ½” – 5/8” threaded stainless steel rods and nuts. Painted mild steel squares appear to serve as washers. It is unknown if epoxy was used to secure the rods to the footing. Stainless steel plates with manufacturer, title and artist information are bolted at the east side with stainless steel bolts and mild steel washers.
