2005 Sculpture Walk People's Choice Award winner. The piece consists of a patinated bronze shepherd walking carrying a lamb in his right arm and a crook in his left hand. He is wearing draped peasant clothing with a rope belt and leather sandals. He is looking down towards the ground and his hair is flowing behind him. The majority of the work is a rich brown with more yellow/golden tones for the figure’s flesh. According to Rick Haugen of Bronze Age Art Casting, the piece has two coats of Sculpt Nouveau Clear Coat® and one coat of Johnson’s® paste wax on the surface. It has recently been repaired and is slated to be re-installed at its original location in Falls Park, along Phillips Avenue. According to Mr. Haugen, the pins attached to the bottom of the sculpture will be epoxied directly into the rough-hewn quartzite pedestal. At the foot of the pedestal is a smooth, rectangular slab of quartzite embedded into the ground. A painted mild steel plaque mount has been affixed to this slab with stainless steel hardware.
