The sculpture depicts two stylized/abstract eagles in flight and is fabricated of weathering steel. The birds’ wings are outspread spread and they are flying at opposing angles. Their proper right wings touch one another, which is where the weld occurs. A raised date and signature are located at the back of one of the abstract birds. The lower bird’s wing is welded to a weathering steel plate that is welded to a rectangular weathering steel column. The bottom flange of the column is attached to a larger weathering steel plate with screws at the four corners. These screws do not continue down into the painted mild steel plate. This secondary plate has been welded to a ¼”, painted mild steel plate at its four corners. The painted plate is anchored to a rough-hewn quartzite base with a bolt at the northeast and southwest corners of the quartzite base. There is a plaque at the east side of the sculpture mounted directly to the quartzite base. The plaque consists of a painted mild steel mount with stainless steel hardware and a polished quartzite plaque insert with black paint in the engraved areas.
