"I'm inspired by the Santee Sioux Nation Tribe of Flandreau for reintroducing river otters back to South Dakota in 1999. The fur of otters used to be sought after and harvested to a point that sadly led to their extinction in the Great Plains for a time. After the reintroduction in 1999, otter populations have grown in the Big Sioux River. Water is a natural resource we share with each other and wildlife. By protecting the river against pollution, we can establish cleaner water, thereby improving local ecosystems that benefit otters, all creatures, and humans"
