2007 Sculpture Walk People's Choice Award winner. The bronze figurative sculpture depicts a young boy seated on an overturned basket reading a book while various animals parade around him. Multiple patina colors were noted on the cast bronze, especially on the central figure, and there appeared to be a clear wax coating throughout the piece. The signature of the artist was noted at the boy’s proper right lower back. The sculpture sits atop a rough-hewn quartzite base. There is an engraved quartzite plaque mounted to the stone with stainless steel screws. The plaque support is also made of stainless steel. Threaded stainless steel rods were observed beneath the sculpture and are probably epoxied into the piece and base.
