Artwork: Sitting Cheetah
City condition notes

The sculpture depicts a stylized bronze cheetah in a seated position looking to its proper left. It has been patinated with several tones that generally gives the cheetah a reddish-brown color overall. The piece is likely waxed but it is unclear if a lacquer coating is present beneath. No obvious signature was noted. Letters have been carved into the cheetah’s chest and appear to be representative of the casting but are not consistent with the artist’s name. The sculpture has been affixed to a rectangular, patinated ferrous metal sheet, which in turn has been welded to a cast stone pad with an “X” of ferrous metal imbedded in the surface. This pad is embedded in the ground and is generally flush with the surface. A stainless steel plaque mount has been affixed to the concrete pad. It houses two smooth, engraved quartzite plaques that have black paint in the recessed areas.
