City condition notes

The sculpture depicts a young boy in profile standing while reading a book. At his front, a dog stands on the hind legs while its front paws rest on the boy’s legs. Both figures are patinated with the majority of the surface being a warm brown and a yellow/gold for the boy’s flesh. It sits atop a rough-hewn quartzite base with a flattened top. The sculpture is likely attached to its base with stainless steel rods and epoxy. A stainless steel plaque mount is affixed to the front of the base with stainless steel hardware. It encases a single block of polished quartzite that has been engraved and exhibits black paint in the recessed/engraved areas.
