Artwork: Sundial
City condition notes

The piece in question is comprised of a solid granite slab that is engraved and set at a 45-degree angle facing north. It is supported by a brushed, solid stainless steel bar. This portion is anchored into the cast concrete square pad that sits atop a circular cement footing. The granite sundial slab has rough edges, but the front and back sides are smooth aside from the engraving. The sundial sits in a granite block masonry pier, which in turn sits atop the circular cement footing. Four solid granite plaques with a smooth and engraved surface surround the sundial. The plaques at the north and south depict the relation of sun time to standard time, are of the same length and width but vary in thickness. The plaques located on the east (containing a time capsule) and west (a dedication plaque) are slightly smaller than the aforementioned, but are similar in size. They too vary in thickness. There may be slight antiquing in the engraved recessed areas. There is paint in the engraved recessed areas of the time capsule cover.
