The work consists of a cast bronze, life-size representation of a potato farmer from Ireland. He stands on a flat, integral bronze base and holds a long walking stick in his proper right hand. Hanging from the crook of his proper left arm is a bucket of potatoes. A bag is thrown over his proper left shoulder. He is depicted with a full white beard and a hat. The sculpture is partially painted on the hands, cuffs of his shirt, face, potatoes and bag with automotive paint, while the rest exhibits a patinated surface. The sculpture is attached to a smooth, squared quartzite base, which sits on a cement plaza, though the structure of their connection is unknown. A stainless steel plaque mount is affixed to the front of the quartzite base with stainless steel hardware. A title has been engraved on a smooth quartzite plaque that has been painted in recessed areas.
